While the SigEp experience is certainly more than the bricks and mortar of the chapter house, our home undoubtedly plays a significant role in the development of our brothers and as a proud symbol of our shared values and goals.
Built in 1978, 1121 West 4th Avenue has been a part of Oklahoma Alpha’s legacy for 33 years and is showing its age. It has become clear that we must make a major investment in our next chapter house if we are to remain competitive, provide a quality living environment, and develop Balanced Men who follow our cardinal principles of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love.
Keeping Our Brothers Safe
The safety of our collegiate members is of utmost importance to the Oklahoma Alpha AVC; we must offer a structurally sound and safe home for our collegians. Much like our personal homes, our chapter house must be a safe haven that instills confidence in our members and their parents.
Oklahoma State University is as academically challenging as ever and the need for an enhanced, quiet, well-lit, and comfortable study space within our facility is necessary for our members to achieve success. We have all seen the impact of technology over the years, as devices not present during your college years are now necessities, including personal computers, high-speed Internet access, and e-mail. Our plan will ensure that SigEps excel academically and remain scholastic leaders on campus and within the Greek system.
Setting Ourselves Apart
While Oklahoma Alpha continues to attract some of the top men, we know that we are losing quality potential members to other fraternities that offer better facilities. We must also compete with the amenities offered in newly renovated on-campus residence halls and off-campus apartments.
We can no longer meet the needs of our members; our chapter house is 33 years old and needs to be replaced to ensure Oklahoma Alpha Chapter is offering a first-class facility to our collegiate brothers.
